YOUR FEDERAL SHARE INSURANCE COVERAGE

Your savings at Town of Hempstead Employees Federal Credit Union is insured by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) through its National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund (NCUSIF). At TOHEFCU, each account holder is federally insured for at least $100,000.

Not one penny of insured savings has ever been lost by a member of a federally insured credit union. Most properly established savings accounts are insured up to the Standard Maximum Share Insurance Amount (SMSIA), which is $100,000. However, you may obtain additional separate coverage on multiple accounts, if you have different ownership interests and rights in different types of accounts. This requires properly completed account applications and forms. It is also very important that you have a designated beneficiary on your account(s).
