Control your Cards from Online Banking or your Mobile App

With Card Controls:

  • Turn your card on or off
  • Set up alerts for card usage and receive real-time alerts
  • Set up controls for when, where, and how your card is used, including spending limits and usage restrictions

No enrollment is required! All you need is your online banking credentials and an active TOHEFCU Debit or Credit card.

In Online Banking, you will find Card Controls under the Additional Services tab.

In the mobile apps, you will find Card Controls under the MORE icon.

What are Card Controls?

This FREE service allows you complete versatility and control over your debit and credit card transactions. Turn your card on and off, block certain types of merchants, and certain types of transactions, and even set a spending limit. It’s up to you! You will also be able to set alerts, so you stay in the know when it comes to your money.

How do I get started with Card Controls?

Sign into your Online Banking or mobile banking app. In Online Banking it is under “Additional Services”. In the mobile app is it under “More.” Click Card Control and accept the Terms and Conditions. If you do not have an existing Online Banking account, give us a call at (516) 867-4730 to get started.

Is there a fee to use Card Controls?

No, this service is absolutely free! Please note that if you choose to receive text alerts through Card Controls, your carrier’s messaging and data rates may apply.

How do I get Card Controls within Online Banking?

Click Additional Services then select Card Controls in the drop-down menu.

How do I get Card Controls within the mobile app?

Click “More” then click Card Controls in your mobile baking menu to access your card controls.

How can I tell if my card is on or off?

On the main Card Alerts and Controls screen, each card you have will be listed alongside a toggling status button.

If a card is blocked, is every transaction blocked?

All one-time transactions are blocked when you set a card to OFF. However, any recurring payments will continue to process normally.

How do I switch my card OFF to ON?

Simply tap or click the toggling status to change it. Your selection instantly takes effect, putting you in control of your money.

How do I set my text or e-mail notifications?

It’s up to you! You can set up alerts for every transaction, for preferred transactions only, or just for a blocked transaction attempt. In the Alert and Control Preferences screen, use the dropdown to set your preference.

Can I only block certain types of merchants?

Yes! Using the Merchant Type tab within the Alert and Control Preferences window, you can set blocks for specific spending categories such as “Restaurants”, “Travel”, and even “Age Restricted”.

Can I receive alerts for specific types of transactions or transactions at specific merchants?

Yes, if you have your Send Alerts setting set to Preferred Transactions, you’ll be able to block and unblock specific merchants or types of transactions. (Note: blocking a merchant or type of transaction will prevent you from toggling the corresponding alerts.)

Can I only block certain types of transactions?

Yes. Using the Transaction Type tab within the Alerts and Control Preferences window, you can set blocks for specific types of transactions such as ATM, online, mail/phone order, and other types of transactions.

Can I set spending limits?

Yes! In the Alert and Control Preferences window, in the Spend Limits tab, you can toggle the block on and off and set your own customized limit. All transactions outside of the set threshold will be blocked.

Can I add my spouse/child’s card under my Card Controls?

The cards displayed under Card Controls are those associated with the same member number. You will see another individual’s card if it is linked under the same member number. If the card in question is linked to another member you will need to log into online/mobile banking using those separate credentials.
